Gibbons Construction has been very pro-active in the Health and Safety in the workplace for some time running various courses and seminars for employees.
Letters received from Department of Labour 4 August 1994 and 31 July 1995 congratulated us on being the first Nelson Construction Company to achieve full implementation status, of all the Management Safety Systems. The Company currently holds Tertiary Level accreditation in the ACC Workplace Safety Management Practices scheme. This status was confirmed for a further two-year period following the audit undertaken by ACC earlier this year.
Gibbons Construction Limited has had an excellent safety record during its 65-year operation.
Tom Brett acts as overall Safety Manager co-ordinating all safety and health matters. In 2001 Tom Brett was one of the first Nelson builders to achieve the B.C.I.T.O. National Certificate in “Health and Safety and Injury Prevention (on Site Management)”. The Company’s commitment to workplace safety has continued.
