Shane joined Gibbons as General Manager in March 2010. He offers an international perspective having managed large scale construction projects in London, Ireland, Eastern Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand.
Shane has extensive experience in small, medium and large scale commercial and industrial projects ranging from the $250M Otago Prison, completed in 2007, to the $1.2M refurbishment of the Skyline Restaurant in Queenstown, completed 2008.

TOM BRETT
Construction Supervisor
Tom has worked in construction for over 30 years, the last 17 with Gibbons Construction. Trained as a Land Surveyor (gaining a B.Sc.(Surv.) from Otago University) he moved into construction in the late 1970’s.
Tom is responsible for planning, appointing suitable Site Managers and construction staff and coordinating/programming projects. (The construction staff numbers vary between 25 and 50 and there can be several multi-million dollar jobs operating concurrently).

NEIL JOHNSTONE
Senior QS/Estimator
NZCB, NZCQS
Neil’s experience is varied, having worked in commercial and residential construction as a QS, Estimator and Project Manager for more than 30 years.
Neil has worked on numerous projects from housing, major renovations, industrial and high rise developments to major global projects (including four years on the $1b New Parliament House project in Canberra, Australia).

JOHN GALLAGHER
Quantity Surveyor
Bsc (HONS) Quantity Surveying
John joined Gibbons Construction in 2011 with 20 years’ experience in the building industry, specialising in tender preparation, quantity surveying and project management.
John has extensive experience in commercial and industrial projects both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand.
